David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
